Job Description

1. Project & Site Management

Manage all on-site tunnelling activities (excavation, lining, ground support, TBM operation, etc.). Coordinate with project engineers, design teams, subcontractors, and clients. Plan daily and weekly work programs, ensuring manpower, materials, and equipment are available. Monitor progress against schedule and implement corrective measures for delays.

2. Safety & Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with tunnelling regulations (e.g., confined space, ground control, ventilation).

3. Quality Control

Oversee testing and inspection of ground support, concrete lining, and waterproofing works. Ensure all works comply with design specifications, drawings, and QA/QC requirements. Maintain documentation for audits and handover.

4. Personnel & Subcontractor Supervision

Supervise tunnelling crews (miners, TBM operators, engineers, etc.). Manage subcontractor performance and productivity. Lead daily coordination and toolbox meetings.

5. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. Track resources, materials, and productivity data. Communicate updates to the Project Manager and client representatives.

6. Technical & Logistical Coordination

Coordinate tunnel excavation sequences and spoil removal. Plan logistics for material delivery, mucking, ventilation, lighting, and utilities. Troubleshoot site and technical issues in real time.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or relevant experience). More than 5 years of experience in tunnelling construction. Previous involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., rail, metro, utility tunnels) is an asset. Certifications: PMP, OSHA/CSCS, or tunnel-specific safety training may be required depending on location. * Able to working 6 days, including Saturday or Sunday
