Job Description


What the role is:The candidate is tasked with designing and implementation of policies and guidelines related to Blood Borne Diseases (BBD) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). This involves working with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, understanding practices on the ground, literature review of international practices and taking a data-drive and evidenced based approach in the design of policies. Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore\'s communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. It will consolidate and build on the public health functions under MOH, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, and the Health Promotion Board. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:

  • Understand and familiarise with existing policies and guidelines related to BBD and STI \xe2\x80\xa2 Conduct systematic review of international practices, and engaging governmental and non-governmental partners to design and implement policies and guidelines \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaboration with other departments to align HHS objectives with national health polices and contributing to the continuous improvement of prevention and control strategies
What we are looking for:
  • Minimum tertiary qualifications in recognised disciplines, preferably in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related field \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of the healthcare landscape in Singapore, particularly in BBD and STI management, would be advantageous \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in public health programme management, stakeholder engagement, or related areas would also be advantageous \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a diverse environment \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficiency in conducting systematic review and drafting of reports to communicate findings and recommendations \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to conduct and engage with stakeholders including governmental and non-governmental partners while able to navigate challenges, such as resistance from community partners \xe2\x80\xa2 Able to contribute to policy development and strategic decision-making As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
