Thales today employs over 2,100 people in Singapore across all its business areas.KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Work Package Manager (Software), you are accountable for:Work Package Organization and Planningo Author the Work Package Description with the WP team based on the project structure regarding the entity/Customer requirements.o Identify deliverables, milestones and inter-dependencies with other WP\xe2\x80\x99so Establish an initial PERT diagram, the schedule and the estimates based on a viable solution, and identify the necessary resources and their availabilityo Define WP risks and opportunities and ensure agreed mitigations are funded and initialize the work package baseline using the relevant key project toolso Ensure the WP is approved and where applicable commitment is obtained from suppliers.Work Package Launcho Refine the PERT diagram and created a detailed schedule which is aligned with the project master schedule.o Define the cost structure, resource profiles, supplier selection and the relevant metrics to monitor the WPo Write relevant plans within the WP scopeo Update the WP risks and opportunities and ensure any newly agreed mitigations are funded.o Define, implement and report WP specific KPIs and ensure these captured in the PMPWork Package Executiono Achieve the objectives of the Work Package and take the necessary management actions to correct any deviation from the baseline or objectiveso Identify and solve issues, pro-actively managing the risks and opportunities and performing mitigation activities.Work Package Monitoring and Controlo Review document, specifications, schedule & estimate files using peers where necessary.o Monitor & consolidate all deliverables.o Update the schedule, risk & opportunities register, the project ETC & EAC.o Consolidate the work package dashboard (included agreed KPIs) and lead progress meetingso Report as per the Project Management Plan (PMP) and escalate to the Project Manager (PM) any variances or key issues.o Liaise with the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) and his/her Head of Discipline for all aspects relating to his/her work packageo Manage scope change & its impact analysis and ensure baseline change requests are raised and the Work Package Description is updated.Quality of Deliverableso Responsible for the quality of the delivered products, services and documentation within the project committed time and budget and in the scope of the work package.o Ensures that all configuration items within the WP scope are managed (could be also supported by a configuration manager)Key Stakeholder Relationso Lead the team and/or suppliers involved to perform the work package and ensures the respect of all commitments.o Participate and input to all relevant project reviews as specified in the PMPo Act, where required, as PM delegate to the Client.o Act, where required, as the Thales representative for sub-contracted workCapture of Lessons Learnedo The WPM must collect, analyze and synthesize the strengths and weaknesses during the performance of the work package, propose recommendations for improvement and record these as prescribed in the PMP.Work Package Closureo The WPM must ensure that all the commitments taken in his work package description sheet have been honored by collating all WP data, costs and estimates etc., recording them and then organize a closure review.KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCETo be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

  • Degree qualified in computer science, information technology, engineering, project management or other suitable discipline.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent (e.g. IPMA)
  • Proven and effective leadership with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural teams across geographies and time zones.
  • At least 5 years in managing a software delivery team.
  • Exceptional written communication skills including authoring content and editing.
  • Basic project finance understanding.
  • Strong internal stakeholder management in a matrix organization.
  • Strong customer focus and external relationship management.
