The Opportunity

As a core member of the Singapore Strategy and Transformation team, you will be a key contributor to the delivery of strategic initiatives complying with Singapore and regional visions. You serve as a trusted advisor to multiple local and regional teams and provides strategic consulting as the point-of-contact and interface between business and technology throughout the lifecycle of strategic initiatives. Highly adaptive to a changing technology landscape, you will work with other architects and domain experts to produce high-level and detailed designs. You should be an effective communicator, quick to learn new tools and systems, and flexible in the face of change. You should quickly understand business challenges and uses combinations of tools and concepts to create solution proposals. This role will report to Head of Architecture Singapore.

We are looking for someone with:
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and ability to craft software/platform/infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes.
  • Extensive knowledge of application architecture and digital: concepts, practices, and tools.
  • Wide knowledge of architectural frameworks and the ability to produce effective design principles.
  • Experience of Microservice and API based architectures.
  • A wider view of the technology trends in the industry and DevOps experience.
  • Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other Software Engineering best practices to accelerate the delivery and quality of new features.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend new technologies and assess their potential impact and value for the organization
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance business, systems, and processes will be a plus.
  • Extensive experience of legacy transformation will be a plus.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
On the job you will:
  • Define the end-to-end solutions and uplift solution maturity across architecture layers.
  • Establish solution roadmaps in alignment with Manulife\xe2\x80\x99s regional target architecture in respective domains.
  • Serve as internal consultant to produce business transformation proposals with clear architecture vision and lead business transformation solution implementation through definition and realization of interim architectures.
  • Act as domain expert to guide the development teams for technical solutions leveraging business requirements, reference architecture and solution architecture as inputs under the direction of Asia Technology Office.
  • Review, interpret and respond to business requirements to ensure alignment between customer expectations and technology capabilities.
  • Develop, test and implement technology solutions and report on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected.
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts to validate technology concepts and trends.
  • Identify areas of improvement and suggest solution roadmaps to bridge any gaps.
  • Assist country architect in the review of design and assessment of solutions
  • Work in partnership with DevOps owner to advance Engineering Excellence practice and provide guidance to development team.
  • Collaborate with Agile owner to promote Agile mindset and adoption across the business and technology teams.
