Responsible for ordering, receiving, inventory, organization and the sales of the wine
Oversee all wine purchases and cost management
Regularly develop and grow the wine program based on current trends, personal ideology and guest preferences; together with the restaurant manager and chef
Create wine pairings with the food menus
Recommend appropriate wines to guests
Oversee the correct storage and service of wine to all guests
Training the floor team on available wines and the subsequent service
To work with the Operations manager to ensure that the profit margins are maintained and in line with the overall profit and loss statements for the wine program
To build excellent rapport with the guests
Be able to recognise our regular patrons and their needs and preferences
Job Requirements
2-3 years of working experience in a similar role
WSET 3 certification or higher certifications
Excellent customer service skills and friendly
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Well-organized and clean
Keen for opportunities to learn and grow within the organisation
Able to commit to shift work
