The Opportunity:Adecco is partnering with a world-leading provider of equipment and services to the semiconductor manufacturing industry, and we are seeking a talent to join their business as a Sourcing Engineer. Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Director, the successful incumbent will onboard cost-effective vendors, expand the global supply base, and support technical projects. This includes managing a diverse portfolio of parts and suppliers, working closely with teams in Korea and the US, enhancing supplier relationships and onboarding new suppliers across various commodities like cables, machining, sheet metal, and OEM components.

• Work location: Serangoon North
• Work hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm
• Monthly basic up to $5,800 + AWS + VB
• Semiconductor manufacturing industry

The Job:

• Access, select, and onboard new suppliers for prototypes, first build, and production.
• Identify the best materials, manufacturing methods, and suppliers to meet design needs at a lower cost, especially from global sources.
• Participate in and help facilitate design reviews.
• Assist in evaluating and approving alternative manufacturing methods or suppliers.
• Collect, analyze, and communicate data during supplier selection and initial production phases.
• Identify and address potential risks with single-source suppliers, and suggest alternatives.
• Provide input on designs and review engineering documents to find cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with mechanical design teams to ensure designs are practical from a supplier\'s perspective.
• Visit suppliers to assess their capabilities.
• Communicate design specifications with suppliers around the world.
• Discuss design documents directly with suppliers.
• Be the first point of contact for supplier issues and have the authority to make design changes to fix manufacturing problems.
• Assist the company\'s Asian Operations Center with production needs.
• Work closely with buyers, quality engineers, and manufacturing engineers.

The Talent:

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including schematics and manufacturing methods.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise and negotiate good deals with suppliers.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project. Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Pro E, SolidWorks, Windchill, or similar design software will be highly advantageous.
