What Strategic Sourcing - Global Products contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Strategic Sourcing Global Products is responsible for managing a portfolio of Cardinal Brand products, raw materials, spend and suppliers. Development and execution of global sourcing strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business objectives.

Job Summary
Develop and implement APAC procurement strategies to align with global procurement, category strategies and integrate with the manufacturing strategies. Engaged and work with site stakeholders and responsible for PPV results across APAC manufacturing sites.

Strategic procurement

  • Responsible for overall management of category (latex) spend profile across APAC Manufacturing sites
  • Contribute to the development of procurement strategies and roadmaps, to leverage overall Cardinal Health requirements and partnerships over different categories.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and industry data to identify emerging trends and opportunities for new manufacturing platforms through tracking commodity, supplier landscapes and providing continuous updates to include various manufactures, production processes as they relate to cost, technical capability, and supply chain capabilities
  • Support site purchasing as well as global procurement and global sourcing in RFP and negotiation by utilizing should cost analysis, where applicable.
  • Key liaison between Category managers and Cross Functional Teams to ensure implementation of new procedures that would impact the various raw material sourcing categories.
  • Engagement with key stakeholders at APAC manufacturing and aligning requirements to meet business needs through collaborative relationship
  • Support R & D in new product development for sourcing and development of new supply base in APAC region.
PPV management and Cost Saving Activities
  • Responsible and support for VIPs, PPV across multiple sites, including Traction management.
  • Monitor, report out Operating Variances, Commodity PPV of sites, ensuring overall PPV meets the target.
  • Lead multiple VIP projects and prioritize deliverables as the business climate shifts.
Supplier management
  • Promote the establishment of long-term cooperative partnerships with strategic suppliers to ensure all suppliers are treated in a professional, ethical, and fair manner.
  • Through strategic partnership with key suppliers, drive innovations and deliver values to improve business financial position.
  • Work effectively to resolve any escalations with suppliers on issues with supply chain and ensuring assurance of supply for business continuity
  • Assist site purchasing on Contract management to maximize company's benefits while reducing business risks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferred), Administrative or Business preferred
  • At least 5-8 years of "hands on" experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Category Management.
  • Background and experience in medical industry, rubber or latex categories are highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in commodities and manufacturing processes.
  • Strategic thinking is a must.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow up.
  • Strong Communication, Analytical and Interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Negotiation and Project management skills.
