What you\'ll do

The Finance Business Partnering team uses commercial acumen, analytical skill, and storytelling to provide decision support and challenge that ensures the business takes decisions that maximise value.

The role steps beyond providing analysis and insight - the Specialist - Finance Business Partner [Projects] is an architect of organisational change and champion for best practice as we pursue the delivery of our strategy.

With end-to-end visibility, understanding of the entire business and technical knowledge, the Business Partner engages strongly with stakeholders and works jointly with other teams to collaboratively drive the progression of a portfolio of transformational projects and initiatives. They liaise with stakeholders across the organization to deliver transformation through ideation, planning, implementation and reporting. The key transformation enablers to our strategy and the focus for this role include:

  • Enhanced system, process and control landscape
  • Simplification and alignment of reporting and analysis landscape
In addition, the Specialist - Finance Business Partnering drives and engages peers to ensure a culture of learning, innovation and collaboration, standardisation and simplification and drives performance across the team.

KEY TASKS

Project management and support
  • Lead or support cross-disciplinary teams in ideating, designing, and implementing key projects and initiatives.
  • Manage project prioritization, sequencing, and roadmap development.
  • Lead or support the delivery of material cross commodity and functional projects.
  • Ensure changes are embedded into the business-as-usual process.
  • Proactively challenge projects and Initiatives to maximise strategic value.
  • Establish and evolve the tracking and reporting process for the wider project portfolio.
  • Support the exploration of innovation and technological solutions.
Business advisory
  • Proactively engage with the front / mid-office teams to frame business questions in advancing projects and initiatives in concert with peers.
  • Understand and improve data origination processes from various internal and external sources.
  • Champion Business Intelligence tools to prepare and analyse data to support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and value delivery in reporting.
Financial planning
  • Awareness and identification of improvement opportunities for key models used to forecast financial results, working capital, cashflow and outlook/budget processes.
  • Evolve and develop processes to improve forecast accuracy and support decision making.
Performance management
  • Support the improvement in the design and preparation of regular and ad hoc performance reports.
  • Drive a collaborative process that provides visibility across the value chain performance and enables improvement in performance management.
  • Work with Finance Operations to coordinate the supply of performance data from all relevant sources and develop on-demand information for users. Educate users on better using the information to gain insights through citizen data science.
  • Work closely with Group Finance to improve internal understanding of performance and the Marketing narrative.
Beyond Finance
  • Ensure the alignment of Marketing Finance Business Partnering Projects and initiatives against Beyond Finance goals and obtain the necessary support from the program into Marketing and vice versa.
  • Provide input, direction and act as a champion for change in advancing the Beyond Finance Transformation initiatives.
  • Assist Beyond Finance team with design and implementation of transformation initiatives.
Learning and development
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, big data thinking, and collaborative \'smart team\' working.
  • Stay up-to-date with technology and leverage the latest software tools in analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and implement new technologies to deliver next generation advisory capability.
Qualifications

What we\'re looking for
  • Degree in Business, Finance with CA, CFA, CPA qualifications
  • Experience in commodity marketing / commercial analysis within a large organisation
  • Good understanding of mining and/or extractive industries
  • Understanding of commodity trading would be beneficial
  • Competent across the range of tools and frameworks of strategic and financial analysis and project management
  • Exposure to large reporting related projects requiring material business change
  • Hand on experience in using integrated ERP system such as SAP or Oracle
  • Cross commodity, finance/ IT related experience
  • Project management and deliverable experience
