The purpose for this role is to plan and manage the shipping schedule for our steelmaking coal book, balancing commercial, production and customer related factors in a way which optimises value.Reporting to Manager Asset Liaison, your key accountabilities include: -

  • Apply your value chain knowledge to planning and managing the shipping schedule for steelmaking coal by considering throughput, supply chain capabilities, quality, price, and customer preferences.
  • Knowing our customers and understanding their needs.
  • Identifying ways to realise value and mitigate risk using options embedded in contracts.
  • Applying your understanding of our end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimisation, and maximise value.
  • Deliver accurate and timely execution of scheduling activities in accordance with process and governance requirements.
  • Source information, plans and conduct analysis to support evidence-based decision making.
  • Completing continuous improvement projects.
  • Potential for broader steelmaking coal book management opportunities
About YouAs a successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Demonstrate relevant working experience in either supply chain management or sales distribution, preferably in the shipping of bulk commodities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain stakeholder relationships, work with and influence a range of cross functional and cross regional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to trade off commercial, production and customer related factors to realise value and mitigate risk.
  • Have a basic understanding of international trade, freight, distribution, contract law, incoterms and trade financial instruments like letters of credit.
  • You are proactive, innovative, passionate and vocal.
  • Possess good communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record managing and implementing process improvements.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP or similar ERP supply chain systems.
