Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) is in collaboration with Sport Singapore to introduce the Specialist Training Scheme (STS) which is a 2-years training programme to complement your education Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) is in collaboration with Sport Singapore to introduce the Specialist Training Scheme (STS) which is a 2-years training programme to complement your education and knowledge from Universities. Under the STS, we are currently seeking for trainees as Assistant Sport Technologist. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement new technology solutions to enhance the performance of Singapore's elite sport/athletes. The candidate must have experience in developing hardware and software to enhance human performance, completing R&D projects, and working in multi-disciplinary teams. As an Assistant Sport Technologist, you will work with athletes, sporting teams, coaches, sport scientists, and engage in hardware and software development to exploit every possible gain that technology can bring to the performance of Singapore's elite sport/athletes. You will be supervised by a Sport Technologist and the Head of Sport Science and Medicine. Key Accountabilities Service Delivery Move ideas for sport performance enhancement into technology prototypes quickly. This involves hardware and software development and integration Integrate different hardware and software systems to allow for holistic measurements and visualizations of data to serve sport performance enhancement objectives. Sport scientists, coaches and athletes must be able to easily use these systems, visualize data in real-time if possible, gain insights from the data collected, and thereafter use the insights to improve on their training and competition strategies. Provide high-quality, sport-specific, evidence-based and performance-focused services, to address issues identified by coaches, athletes and sport scientists via the development and utility of Sport Technology. Research & Development Undertake R&D focused on strategic requirements and targeted issues that will enhance medal winning opportunities through Sport Technology. Education Develop and deliver educational materials to educate coaches, athletes and students on the utility of Sport Technology to enhance training and performance. Teach and mentor fellow peers, interns and trainees in the development and utility of Sport Technology. Capability Development Identify knowledge gaps and resources to bridge these gaps. Create opportunities to grow the pool of Sport Technology expertise in Singapore. Develop partnerships with technology industries and institutes of higher learning to co-create technological solutions that would contribute to the enhancement of training and competition monitoring, and performance enhancement for Singapore's elite sports/athletes. Qualifications Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree in Sport Technology/Science/Engineering/Computer Science or related specialty Competent in hardware (e.g. 3D printing, precision engineering and capabilities in Mechanical Engineering) and software development using different tools (e.g. CAD, Python, R, VBA, Matlab, Arduino) Good background knowledge and understanding of other sport science disciplines such as physiology, nutrition, psychology, and strength & conditioning The Ideal Candidate Has Passion for Sport, believes in Strength through Teamwork, and Cares for People Demonstrate the commitment to sporting success in high performance sport Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, effective negotiation and consultation skills, open and dedicated to engaging in respectful and effective relationship building with stakeholders from diverse sports and backgrounds Demonstrate the ability to lead, educate and motivate athletes and coaches to embrace scientific and technological support Highly professional and ethical approach High levels of initiative and responsibility Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team Willingness and ability to work unconventional hours and undertake overseas assignments
