Job Description


UWCSEA East Campus has a vacancy for an energetic Sports Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for Assisting Physical Education teachers and Sports Coaches prepare facilities and equipment for Physical Education lessons, Sports Activities and Sporting Events.Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure all facilities and equipment safe for use and all health and safety regulations are complied with.
  • Prepare and distribute equipment for P.E lessons and after School Sports Activities.
  • Set up larger items (such as Volleyball, Badminton & tennis posts / Bowling Machines / Goals) for P.E Lessons and after School Sports Activities.
  • Ensure equipment items are stored away after P.E & Sports tidily and safely. Removing and replacing broken equipment & assisting with the packing away of the annual overseas equipment order into respective stores.
  • Wash sports kit, bibs, bands and lost & found items.
  • Ensure the upkeep of P.E & Sports equipment and ensure readiness for use (Re-grip tennis rackets, hockey sticks, cricket, softball bats, pump up balls).
  • Report broken or dangerous facilities or equipment to P.E Assistant Coordinator.
  • Mark lines on pitches as required.
  • Keep and update stock lists of equipment as required.
  • Work as a member of the P.E & Sports Assistant team to set and break down facilities & equipment for Days of Sports, local and International sports tournaments.
  • Support teachers when needed, especially climbing, high ropes and water activities.
  • Purchase additional equipment items, food and beverage for P.E & Sporting events.
  • Assist with set up of facilities & equipment for holiday camps when required.
  • Ensure valuable equipment items are stored away or securely to protect from possible damage or theft.
  • Safeguarding the students at UWCSEA.
Person Specifications
  • Minimum certificate/diploma in related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience of working in Schools or similar sporting fields.
  • A proactive worker who seeks opportunities and solves problems.
  • An enthusiastic team contributor with good interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit to fulfil a demanding job that may entail lifting and manoeuvring heavy equipment.
  • Excellent English (written and spoken) and an ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with International School students, parents and staff.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and evenings when needed.
