DIVISION SUMMARY

Within the Instruments and Enterprise Services IES division, we provide a single source for integrated lab service, support and supply management. IES encompasses over 4200 hard-working global service professionals with the broadest service portfolio in the market coupled with access to a deep bench of domain expertise. Our product portfolio consists of Instrument and Enterprise Services, a set of service offerings that focus on our customers\' service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the business unit strategy for organic growth, operations, P&L and alignments for the IES APJ business
  • Responsible for developing, delivering the IES and reginal near term (1-2 year) and long term (3-5) year strategy, working with customers and partner divisions to understand market trends and adjust strategic direction as necessary
  • Serve as the IES leader within the APJ senior leadership team, operating as an extension of the broader regional leadership team, to ensure alignment and collaboration to meet and exceed AOP
  • Influence and gain alignment within a global, highly matrixed organization.
  • Develop and implement the strategy, prioritization and geographic strategy deployment processes that enable the division\'s strategic and annual operating plans in region
  • Leverage standard work and management dashboards to quickly and effectively communicate operational and strategic performance of the APJ Service business, embracing our culture of continuous improvement through our PPI (Practical Process Improvement) Business System
  • Responsible for ensuring commercial/service strategy is deployed in the regions and that the team is focused on a more collaborative customer engagement model
  • Ensure that global marketing strategies are deployed within APJ and regions are aligning to a comprehensive product/services offering structure
  • Partnership across Thermo Fisher Scientific IES peers and ensure strategic and operational alignment across other divisions
  • Maintain customer allegiance improving CAS survey results and service metrics to implement improvement plans that deliver measurable and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Commercial team to ensure the deals can be implemented profitably and meet/exceed customer expectations
  • Lead, mentor and develop the IES APJ team and build a bench of future diverse leaders
  • Lead executive stakeholder engagement, communication and organizational change on transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required; an MBA or equivalent consulting / working experience is strongly preferred, services background desirable
  • 10+ years of experience in the Life Science Industry, including a background in operations, marketing, sales, product management, and/or business development
  • Ability and desire to work a flexible schedule that meets the demands of a global role
  • Consistent track record of running a P&L and successfully leading businesses to profitable growth and market share leadership positions
  • Experience working in a multinational company with consistent track record to lead successfully and get results in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent strategy, planning and execution skills
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication including English language skills
  • Highly developed commercial capabilities and intuition for business; an ability to recognize growth and profitability opportunities and capitalize on them
  • Strong data-driven approach; with an ability to communicate effectively using data to tell the story. Ability to understand, analyze and assimilate sophisticated issues, draw accurate conclusions and formulate clear strategy and policies.
  • Handles ambiguity and deals optimally with sophisticated and uncertain situations where many alternatives are possible, and no single accurate answer exists
  • Illustrates decisiveness and wisdom in the face of limited data while influencing others in a way that results in acceptance or agreement and drives the business forward
  • Rigorously holds oneself and others accountable for achieving high levels of individual and organizational performance
  • High energy level with ability to adopt and model the Thermo Fisher Scientific values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement
  • Experienced with strategy deployment tools and applying PPI, Lean, 6-sigma, or similar tools to drive operational and business improvements within a commercial organization
  • Able to travel up to 50% APJ region and globally
