We are hiring a Senior Scientist who combines a solid scientific background with outstanding communication, collaboration, and project management skills. We offer a central role in the organization and execution of the vaccine development process across various functions and cultures.

What will you do:

Autonomously organize, conduct, coordinate, and lead research project(s) and perform all necessary experiments to design, develop or improve vaccines, vaccination strategies, and veterinary products for tropical fish aquaculture.

Ensure the fastest possible development of products while ensuring the quality standards and a high level of performance confidence of the product developed.

In conjunction with research management, determine the lines and approaches for product development in their own field of expertise.

Initiate new projects and support transfer to production and registration of new products

Function as research leader for (multiple) projects. Plan, coordinate, and prioritize project team activities based on priorities, resources, and overall efficiency.

Maintain up-to-date scientific developments and literature within your expertise fields.

Is or strives to become the company expert for the diseases and products you work on.

Control and be responsible for the progress of projects.

Ensure project reporting through internal processes & higher management meetings.

Performs and supervises experiments according to GLP.

Is up to date with regulatory guidelines for the products and geographical areas they are developing products for, maintaining direct contact with Regulatory Affairs.

Writes project proposals and timely suggests amendments to running projects to R&D management.

Present research results both internally and externally.

Identifies potential intellectual property and takes steps to initiate the evaluation of the potential.

Contributes to project discussions within the R&D site and Global R&D.

Explore cross-discipline developments for application in their projects. Ensure compliance with Company, EHS, Quality, and Regulatory guidelines.

Propose improvement to facilitate or expedite the activities within the R&D group.

What should you have:

We are looking for motivated individuals who can manage high-profile research programs.

As a Senior Scientist, you should have a proven track record in research, with a Ph.D. from a recognized university in the field of bacteriology, virology, or immunology, preferably involving the study of fish diseases.

You will conduct, coordinate and lead research projects toward developing vaccines for tropical fish aquaculture.

You should have at least five years of relevant experience in a research environment. Practical knowledge of bacteriology, virology, immunology, or vaccine development is required. A thorough understanding of fish biology, immunology, and pathogens is advantageous.

You have the ability to take up multitasking activities and to work in a multicultural team is essential for the role. You should communicate proficiently in English and interact effectively with the team.
