Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly driven and talented bioinformatics engineer or software engineer to join the DRAGEN verification Team.

The team focus on developing tools to analyze large genomic datasets, setting up a CI/CD and automated testing infrastructure and improving the databases and websites that we use for the verification activities.

Responsibilities:

Work independently in cross-functional teams to lead the testing effort for data analysis software

Partner with software, bioinformatics developers and domain experts in designing, performing, and improving verification tests

Design and Implement automated software verification framework and scripts

Prepare necessary test artifacts required for formal software / product release

Develop and execute automated tests

Carefully analyze and report test results

Participate in Code and Design Reviews

Ensure Software Development Life Cycle procedures are followed

Collaborate with peers to identify opportunities for process improvement

Requirements:

Experience developing software applications utilizing a high level language such as Python, Java, C# or C++ required

Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP, data structures, SOLID principles, unit testing, TDD, SQL

Bachelors / Masters / PhD with at least 5 years of relevant experience

Have an understanding of Bioinformatics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Oncology or related field of biology

Experience in designing or architecting automated verification framework and tests

Experience with CI/CD, Continuous Testing and related tools such as Jenkins

Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and docker.

Experience working in a Linux environment. Experience administrating a Linux system is a plus

Experience writing scripts in bash or other scripting language

Experience in formal verification of software or system in a regulated environment (ex. medical device etc.)

Working experience with software or system verification & validation

Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly

Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks

Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships

Good verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills
