This includes:

  • Adherence to all applicable Singapore, SEA, and U.S. laws and regulations pertaining to international trade as well ensuring compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific corporate, divisional and local policies
  • Perform and evaluate the process for accurate transaction screening and review of transactions, including denied and restricted party screening
  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule ("HTS") and Export Control Classification ("ECCN")
  • Request, Check, and approve due diligence documentation
  • Assist Divisional Trade Compliance with the implementation of Global Trade Compliance software
  • Export license determination and application
  • Build and Implement a Free Trade Agreement program for applicable exports
  • Follow the timely reporting obligations to appropriate customs authorities
  • Review blocks and release orders in ERP and our Global Trade Compliance Software
  • Identify training needs, co-develop and provide training
  • Assist in developing and deploying company policies and processes relating to trade compliance matters
  • Support the continuous improvement of the companyxe2x80x99s trade compliance program
  • Records retention: handling the import/export transaction documentation and performing random audit check as required by company policy and regulations
Keys to Success:Education
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.
Experience
  • 3-5 years overall experience within export control compliance functions, ideally in an international environment
  • FTA/COO knowledge and expertise
  • HTS and ECCN Classification
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to adapt and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail
  • Familiar with continuous improvement activities (PPI, Kaizen, JDI)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both Malay and English
  • Knowledge of MS Suite Software preferred
  • Self-motivated and driven with excellent collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, proactive, with a positive demeanor
