About our group:

The RMO HDI-Reliability Laboratory\'s primary mission provides Mechanical test solutions to enable the media and substrate process and product qualification, in addition to the product yield, quality, and reliability. The team also serves a critical role in the Media mechanical design and development, tribology testing, contamination, and defect reduction. They work closely with the R&D centers and Manufacturing team. This role will report into an Engineering Manager.

About the role - you will:

• Senior HDM member in the Media Mechanical Design/Development & Mechanical Test Design/Development for HAMR and PMR Products.
• Conduct Tribology and mDVL design, testing & analysis.
• Media HDM scientific Modelling to predict Media mechanical behaviors and Media new design solutions.
• Work in a team that develops and deploys technologies to meet the Mechanical CTQ and reliability requirements of media in the hard disc drive.
• Deploy Media mechanical technical solutions into high-volume manufacturing, ensuring high product quality, reliability, and production.
• Work closely with FRC and Drive design team in the innovation of media mechanical design.
• Work closely with functional groups to solve critical product issues and leverage new technology.

About you:

• A Self-motivated achiever
• Innovative in Media Mechanical/Physics/Nanotechnology
• Knowledge/Experience in Tribology and mDVL design/testing/analysis.
• Proficient problem-solver with analytical skills to evaluate risks and business strategies
• Good interpersonal communication skills, a good presenter
• MSc / PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Electronic Engineering/Physics

Your experience includes:

• Knowledge and skills in these areas - Dynamics, Electronics, Signal Processing, Media Mechanical/Tribology Design - will be beneficial in this role
• Experienced in Drive level testing and programming.
• Accomplished lab skills, including operation of oscilloscopes, data collection tools, and data analysis techniques are all skills that will be beneficial in this role.

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work. Ample free on-site parking is also available.
