What will you do?
We provide leadership to the project team and partner with the R&D/design lead to research and develop life science instruments that address sophisticated challenges and/or improve customers' workflow
We build the system architecture with the design leads to ensure all aspects of designs are represented and realized throughout the design process
We initiate and guide discussions with key partners to generate requirements using system engineering approaches
We refine and manage requirements to ensure they are timely implemented at different stages of the product development cycles
We manage technical risks and guide the project team in risk mitigation activities
We support the development team in feasibility studies and concept selection through concept testing activities
We formulate and lead system integration activities to ensure a smooth and timely transition from design to operations
We partner and support our regulatory affairs representative during product development to meet relevant ISO and FDA standards and guidelines
We own and undertake vital tasks to achieve the product launch objectives
We provide mentorship to junior team members of the systems engineering team
How will you get here?
Education / Experience
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Disciplines or Biotechnology
Knowledge in Life Science, Cell / Gene Therapy application is an added advantage
At least 5 years of R&D experience in new product development, life science instrument, consumables, and/or experience in systems design is desired
Prior experience in delivering at least one NPI project from concept to commercial launch is vital
Demonstrated ability in systems design
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Genetics and Cell Biology basics with experience in the field of Gene/Cell Therapy or relating instrumentations and technologies e.g. DNA extraction using magnetic beads, bioreactors, electroporation etc.
Acute analytical and trouble shooting skills is a crucial abilities
Communicate and work well with team members from a diverse set of backgrounds
Exercise leadership to lead the project team to navigate key challenges during product development execution
Proficiencies in general Engineering, Mathematical and Statistical subject areas
