What the role is:The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. Join HTX as a Petroleum and Flammable Materials Licensing Officer and play a crucial role in supporting Singapore's fire safety standards through the routine processing and assessment of licensing applications related to Petroleum and Flammable Materials. You will be forward deployed to Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Headquarters to handle process-driven tasks related to regulatory compliance, including regular site inspections to verify compliance to safety codes. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in routine, structure work environments with a focus on safety, protocols and compliance.What you will be working on:Handle public and industry enquiries or feedbacks related to P&FM licensing requirements. Process licence applications for P&FM storage and pipeline applications. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and codes under the Fire Safety (P&FM) Regulations. Participate in inter-agency committees or work groups to enhance Singapore's fire safety standards, resolves issues and ensure continued relevance. Monitor and achieve the monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for licensing applications . Fulfil any requirements established by HTX as your employer.What we are looking for:Tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical engineering discipline. At least 5 years experience in the P&FM industry. Strong knowledge of the local Fire Code and various Codes of Practices related to P&FM . Team player with strong attention to details. Comfortable with routine and regular site inspection work. *** All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
