Roles & Responsibilities Statistical analysts perform various functions, including providing support in problem solving; offering insights, and aiding sound decision-making using data. The major tasks, duties, and responsibilities that make up the job description of a statistical analyst are listed below:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the best approach to accurately measure and track different Crucial to Quality metrics for new technologies in testing
• Provide support to aid stakeholders in evaluating new projects/technologies by developing reports on them
• Discover and produce the best data visualizations for various technologies and different audiences
• Responsible for organizing and creating catalogs for large streams of data collected on site
• Responsible for data mining of large, complex, and ambiguous data with the goal of generating insights
• Identify problems and root causes that will aid in developing complete, validated solutions to customers
• Responsible for the overall management, including review, evaluation, design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL databases
• Responsible for data analysis and interpretation using statistical techniques, and providing ongoing reports to appropriate unit
• Develop and implement data collection systems as well as other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
• Perform identification, analysis, and interpretation of trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Assist management to prioritize business and information needs by working closely with them.

Major requirements you may be asked to fulfill:

• Education: Applicants for the statistical analyst role are required to have a BS/BA degree in Data/Business Analytics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business Analytics, or in a related quantitative field of study relevant to the sector where they intend to work
• Knowledge: It is vital that they possess capabilities in statistical analysis and modeling which includes hypothesis testing, logistic and linear regression, AND parametric and non-parametric methods
• They must be able to analyze large quantities of data to generate and present insights, applying excellent knowledge of SQL, R, Python and Excel
• It is also important that they are proficient in visual analytics, dashboard creation, and dynamic reporting
• Collaborative skills: They must be able to work collaborative in a team-oriented environment
• Communication skills: They require excellent written as well as verbal communication skills for effective presentation of both technical and non-technical information to audience from varying background
• Organizational skills: It is essential that they are highly organized individuals with the ability to effectively prioritize workload and execute tasks successfully even when faced within tight deadlines
• Quantitative skills: It is essential that applicants for the statistical analyst job are highly numerate with strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills, and demonstrated experience with SQL or SAS programming, statistical modeling and forecasting, applying quantitative and research methods. They must be comfortable with and capable of synthesizing large data sets into actionable insights
