Job Description

  • Demonstrates competence in handling point of sales transactions in the form of cash, credit cards or automatics debits in consonance with established work procedures and guidelines;
  • Transacts payments with precision and skills in order to avoid counter-related customer issues; Verifies customer identity in case of credit card payments, scans the prices, receives payments, generates receipts and accurately issues change;
  • Performs sorting and counting of currencies and coins; Makes sure that adequate change fund is available to avoid delays and customer complaints;
  • Observes turnover of work shift accountabilities by "logging outaEUR consistently to avoid shortages and overages; Maintains confidentiality of Operator ID and /Passwords and reports immediately to superior any personal knowledge of security breach and violations;
  • Ensures proper upkeep and cleanliness of the counter area at all times including the POS Machines, POS Printers, bank terminals, bill counters, calculator, telephone and other equipment to prevent disruption of store operations; Promptly coordinates machine or server breakdowns, terminal problems and the like with superiors or with the concerned departments;
  • Observes strictly all applicable fraud prevention and deterrent programs to prevent work delays and loss of resources resulting from fraudulent and expired bank card transactions, payment of fake bills, erroneous release of gift certificates, unauthorized discounts and the like;
  • Supports the stores promotional and marketing initiatives by reading and familiarizing himself with related circulars ably disseminating the information to the customers and to his co-employees as well;
  • Maintains a cheerful attitude towards the customers and assists them on matters related to the payment, account balances, item purchased and the like.
  • Handles less complex counter-related customer concerns by demonstrating ability to attentively listen to points and issues and asking questions appropriately;
  • Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the storeaEUR(TM)s merchandise including its amenities and facilities;
  • Ensures that all payments received are accounted for and accurately supported with the required documents and sees to the immediate and complete remittance of cash sales for proper safekeeping;
  • Performs daily physical count of all stocks-on-hand and systematically updates related files and inventory software in order to ensure accurate monitoring of inventory;
  • Regularly checks the system for delivery or pull-out schedules; Ensures proper and complete receipt of merchandise delivered and makes sure deliveries and pull-outs are supported by a duly approved Delivery Receipt or Pull-out form; Takes note of defects in quality or discrepancies in quantity for record adjustments;
  • Accurately encodes sales invoice, verifying details therein to avoid re-work and delays;
  • Maintains the storage area, strictly adhering to cleanliness and orderliness standards to make sure that the items are protected at all times;
  • Inspects regularly all storage racks to make sure that items are stored safely and intact, labeled properly and SRPs are up-to-date;
  • Release and Issuance of Stocks
  • Encodes number of sold units daily in an excel file for inventory purposes;
  • Keeps himself abreast of product promos and advisories from suppliers and ensures that the sales staff are promptly informed;
  • Sees to the immediate pull-out of defective items and transmittal to Head Office for proper disposition;
  • Sees to the systematic filing of detailed records and files such as but not limited to the following:
  • Pull-out Forms
  • Receiving Forms
  • Delivery Receipts
  • Charge Slips
  • Sales Invoice
  • Monitoring Logbooks of Released Items
  • Participates actively in the conduct of the periodic physical count and attends coordination, meetings and orientation on related procedures; Ensures strict compliance to agreed procedures to avoid problems;
  • Adheres strictly to safety and security control procedures in consonance with corporation standards which include safety of employees, customers and visitors.
  • Performs other functions that may be required from time to time.
