Department Description

Sales Engineering at FactSet is responsible for delivering enterprise solutions at scale for both large & sophisticated clients across the financial services industry. Sales Engineering is responsible for elevating relationships and driving partnerships with the C-Suite with a focus on practical solutions to our clients' most pressing business challenges grounded in FactSet's 40 years of experience in content, analytics, technology & services.

Sales Engineering is a multi-disciplined organization focused on business advisory & technological consulting, due diligence and process engineering. The team is built around a highly matrixed group of relationship managers, architects, engineers and advocates who bring to our clients a deep bench of industry & technical experience across the complete investment lifecycle.

Sales Engineering is aligned into both FactSet's Sales and Technology organizations, offering our clients the benefits of FactSet's deep bench of client service personnel and more than 2,000 technologists and product developers.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic candidate to join our Sales Engineering team and who can help push the team to the next level. Our ideal candidate will be able to both manage the pre-sales lifecycle and well as partner with other teams across Sales, Professional Services, Implementation and Support to cultivate and drive specific sales opportunities with an enterprise mindset leveraging front/middle/back-office reference designs and a blueprinting approach. We are looking for a candidate who is entrepreneurial, who is process driven, who can build relationships with business & technology buyers, and who can talk about "enterprise" without losing focus on a client's immediate needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with FactSet's team of 1,500 Global Sales and Client Service professionals to build & execute on a pipeline of large revenue, high impact enterprise deals using FactSet's platform capabilities combined with the capabilities of a wide range of content, analytics, digital, and functional capability partners.
  • Build individual relationships with regional sales managers and individual salespeople to help drive FactSet's sales pipeline
  • Act as a client facing subject matter expert on FactSet's full solutions stack and how clients can take advantage of our applications, content, technology and services to solve their business needs at an enterprise scale
  • Liaise with FactSet's Engineering, Product and Strategy organizations to drive specific opportunities with a focus on helping to craft enterprise solutions
  • With accounts team, sales specialists, product specialists, and strategists - help craft a concrete understanding of the strategic business problems at premier and large regional clients. Leveraging reference designs, best practices design principles, and external consulting alliance advisory - design compelling target operating models including key artifacts for presentation and iteration with clients through to successful opportunity close.
Requirements
  • 10-15+ years of industry experience within a combination of financial services, fintech or market data firms / consultancies
  • 10+ years in a client facing role
  • Ability to develop a broad understanding of FactSet's product offering across the full suite of our solutions including applications, content, technology, services, workflow solutions and professional services
  • Ability to represent FactSet at the C-Suite and Director level of our clients
  • Ability to clearly communicate with business and technology stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Ability to interpret client requirements and map them onto the full suite of FactSet's applications, content, technology, services, workflow solutions & professionals services with an eye towards what's right for the client, understanding that we often have many different solutions that solve for a client's needs
  • Ability to handle many client engagements and projects simultaneously
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and embody an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities and skills.
  • Thirst for continued learning - about technology, our industry, our solutions, etc.
  • Ability to travel as required
Highly Desired
  • Prior experience with technology, either through work experience or education (such as a degree in Information Systems, Business Technology, Computer Science or similar)
  • Prior sales, pre-sales or sales engineering experience or strategic consulting experience
