The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
This 6-month traineeship is designed to provide fresh graduates with meaningful exposure to the field of student development in the School of Business and Media Arts Design School. Trainees will be immersed in a dynamic environment where they will support the planning and delivery of student life initiatives within the School of Business and Media Arts Design School, while developing key professional competencies that are transferable across various industries.
Through this traineeship, you will gain experience and skills in:
1. Event Management - Learn to plan, coordinate, and execute student development programmes, from logistics to on-site operations.
2. Stakeholder Engagement - Build communication and collaboration skills by working with students, staff, and external partners.
3. Project Coordination - Develop project management capabilities through involvement in cross-functional initiatives and student-led activities.
4. Communication & Publicity - Enhance your ability to craft effective messages and create engaging content for school related events.
5. Administrative & Operational Support - Strengthen your attention to detail and organisational skills through hands-on administrative tasks and events operations support.
[What you will be working on]
Coordinate and support the end-to-end planning and execution of Student Development-related programmes such as workshops, school events and activities.
Assist in outreach and communication efforts by preparing infographics, publicity materials, including videos, and social media/web content to engage students and promote student related events such as SB40 celebration event.
Liaise and work closely with external partners, vendors, internal departments, and students, to ensure smooth logistics, timely updates, and effective collaboration across events and projects.
Provide administrative support to the BC Student Development team and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Contribute to school projects and provide operational support for new or ongoing student development initiatives.
[What we are looking for]
A recent graduate with an interest in student development, events planning and execution, keen interest in interaction with students
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with design tools (e.g. Canva) or social media platforms.
Knowledge in the area of theatre production and/or stage musicals are a plus.
