Job Description

Will be responsible for the overall supervision of activities to ensure the accurate and timely procurement and delivery of equipment and supplies, and the engagement of qualified service providers, needed by Solar Group sites.
Procurement
Ensure that materials, parts, supplies, and equipment are procured in a timely and cost-effective way while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
Ensure that approved purchase requests are acted on promptly to facilitate the purchase order and delivery of items
Monitor macro trends and flag risks that may affect the availability of needed materials, and / or the timely delivery
Implement forecasting tools for procurement needs
Supplier and Contractor management
Identify, select and evaluate suppliers according to the company's standards and guidelines
Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and service providers
Establish purchasing standards with suppliers such as order lead time, order quantities, pack sizes and manner of transport
Implement company standards such as, but not limited to:
Compliance to bidding process
Compliance to safety requirements
Compliance to other regulatory requirements specific to contracting, such as DO-174 and other existing and future relevant regulations
Regularly track and evaluate performance of suppliers and service providers
Expand the provider pool by accrediting new suppliers and service providers to ensure minimal supply chain disruption due to inability of existing suppliers to provide for our requirements on time.
Identify opportunities to reduce cost of materials and services and recommend for approval prior to implementation
Identify methods to improve lead times and process efficiency to shorten delivery lead times and better respond to emergency procurement requirements, and recommend for approval prior to implementation
Materials Management
Supervise the section to ensure that all received stocks/ supplies/ items are according to specifications; and the timely preparation and submission of necessary documents to Finance
Protect company assets / inventory
Ensure safe warehousing practices
Ensure that warehouse entrance and exit points are secured/locked to avoid unauthorized entry
Ensure asset issuances and disposals are properly documented and approved
Ensure the accurate accounting of assets and inventory; and proper coordination with counter parties
Ensure proper monitoring and documentation of company properties (assets, stocks and non-stocks)
Identify, recommend, and implement strategies to improve customer service, cost optimization and contribute to the bottom line of the company through
Consignment of inventory to reduce inventory level
Standardization of common items to reduce cost and increase efficiency
Other innovations as approved
Ensures risks identified and reviewed regularly, as well as implement and monitor effectiveness of mitigating measures put in place
Must be a Bachelor's degree holder
With background in Materials Management and Inventory Control
With experience in procurement activities
Has the ability to build strong relationship with suppliers and customers
With at least two (2) years of related work experience.
With at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
