Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Performs ongoing surveillance activities to ensure that policies & procedures, and relevant regulations are adhered to.
  • Investment transaction review to ensure that they are in accordance with internal selling process (e.g. no unauthorized transactions), review client investment suitability (i.e. risk profiling, concentration, etc.) to ensure appropriate disclosure performed / adequate product risk explanation. Advise marketing on the procedures for remediation.
  • Perform market conduct surveillance work to ensure that trade activities adhere to market conduct rules as stipulated under SFA/SFR (MAID system, vested interest report).
  • Perform pricing review to monitor and detect unauthorized deviations.
  • Perform payment (3rd party) review
  • Perform staff personal account review
  • Perform FMIA review
  • Perform EXAM/DPM alerts review
  • Review and approval of trade reversals
  • Reviews and identifies any key control weaknesses, provide recommendations to address them. Implement the necessary rectification or changes in control procedures.
  • Work with Front Office, BRM and Management on surveillance related matters and escalate any issues to Management, where appropriate. Regular escalation and reporting to Management on Surveillance activities results.
  • Ensures that the recommendations of Internal Audit, External Auditors, and regulators have been implemented and control procedures updated, where appropriate.
  • Participate in projects representing ICS for control assurance requirement. Provide requirement and perform UAT (where applicable)
  • Perform any other work or assignments that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Act as back-up for other ICS officers
Requirement
  • Tertiary qualifications, ideally in Business or Information Systems.
  • Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in a financial institution (experience in sales surveillance will be preferred),
  • Sound knowledge in wealth management products and structure,
  • Sound knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements (MAS regulations, Banking Act, SFA, FAA, etc.) and Hong Kong regulatory requirements.
  • Good communication and writing skills in English and Chinese,
  • Good communication in other languages i.e. Cantonese, Bahasa, Japanese will be an added advantage
  • Good computer skills in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Knowledge in Avaloq, Factset and MAID system is a plus.
