Trading & Supply\xe2\x80\x99s (T&S) ambitions is to execute the Powering Progress strategy by acting as the commercial integrator and becoming a leading provider of cleaner energy. T&S Products (TSP) has grown to be one of the largest blenders of LCF in the world. To further monetize that growth, a Global Low Carbon Fuels organization (TSP LCF) was recently launched. The mandate for this new organization is to enable energy transition through strategic focus on developing LCF for the future of Shell, integrate and simplify by driving single point of accountability and deliver greater integrated value by strengthening its role as integrator with the rest of Shell.

The Sustainable Aviation & Marine Business Developer will drive Shell\xe2\x80\x99s integrated downstream businesses through the Energy Transition in Europe, ensuring that different lines of business collaborate with an open mindset to meet Shell\xe2\x80\x99s renewables obligations in the most cost-effective manner, creating sustainable competitive advantage for the Shell group.

Focus areas for TSP LCF are:

Development of new LCF value chains

Develop and grow value from Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF)

Develop a feedstock market for our new HEFA plants

Develop LCF routes to markets including working with all sectors to drive the decarbonization strategy

Optimize equity and non-equity LCF assets, incl. feedstocks

Ensure compliance to LCF regulation

What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?

Within TSP LCF, we are focusing on all sectors to support their decarbonization journey. We are quite advanced with the Road sectors. For Aviation, we are building the strategy. We are rolling out into many different countries globally, yet every country requires focus to truly understand the regulatory-driven boundary conditions. Beyond that, we want to define our production and sales portfolio for the coming decade.

Marine on the other hand is much less developed. Customers are now asking more and more for decarbonization solutions and Shell wants to be in that business, so regulatory frameworks are being developed by the EU and various countries. Contrary to other sectors, Marine has a wide variety of decarbonization options. This requires a strategy to be developed on what we believe in and based on that, what product we would like to be in. New supply chains and processes must be developed, and this position offers a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial candidate to help build the Marine decarbonization business from the ground up.

Specifically, the role will:

Form an integrated team with Marine BD and FuelOil Trading to define the Marine decarbonization strategy for Shell as well as Aviation Sector and Jet Trading team for the SAF integrated strategy.

Develop deep understanding of regulations, biofuels, feedstocks, and emission reduction markets, and from there advise how we should implement and run our new supply chain set-up.

Work with the LCF analyst to drive the East Aviation & Marine Supply & Demand balance and from there advises the global Marine team what supply and demand profile we should deploy and what investments to make.

Scope out and develop long term structural 3rd party offtake opportunities for SAF supply in the East in coordination with Shell SAF trader and drive customer sales.

Develop new CVPs and new supply chains to bring Marine into the market, working across businesses to align on priority locations and products and driving the build-out of our LCF Marine network capabilities globally.

Collaborate with the Sectors & Decarbonization LCF Advanced Biofuels team to bring new projects/ventures to market, leading and coordinating T&S input for all projects (internal and third party) with a majority Aviation or Marine component.

Support Aviation and Marine trading focals and account managers in structuring long-term sales deals.

Support customer sustainability data needs and digital initiatives related to Aviation and Marine.

What we need from you

We hope to find the following in your CV:

Highly motivated with deep interest in the trading business, low carbon fuels and the Energy Transition Challenge.

Commercial Sales or Trading experience, preferably in the Aviation or Marine markets. Candidate must also have solid experience in Marine or Aviation industries.

Knowledge of biofuels and biofuels regulation would be highly beneficial.

Experience in supply chain management and fuels product quality. (Specific experience in FuelOil and/or methanol supply chains and fuel quality would be beneficial)

Experience in managing diverse stakeholders and working effectively at all levels.

Track Record in the delivery of cross business projects.

Ability to understand multiple interdependencies in a highly complex, ambiguous, regulated and layered market environment.

Innovative - ability to search and identify new opportunities from market and analytical insights within a broad range of trading instruments and markets.

Disciplined with eye for detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong commercial acumen and delivery focus.

Self-starter mentality.

Role will require 25% of travelling.
