We are looking for System Engineer to drive technical solution and maintenance for the next generation unified video platform. You will work closely with end users, other system owners to streamline video ingestion, scheduling and reporting workflow.

You must have a very good grasp and practical experience of the end-to-end video delivery technologies, especially in area of managing content ingestion and management, programme and commercial advertising scheduling system, cloud solutioning. You are expected to have a keen interest in and closely follow new developments and trends in this space.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the current next generation unified video platform by

• Manage and monitor all installed system, infrastructure and performance to ensure that the service is up and running as per expected
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems, infrastructure and performance availability by monitoring and testing application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with vendors to implement fixes
• Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies
• Providing support to end users, helping them to debug and resolve issues reported or escalate issues to supporting vendors for next level of resolution
• Work with and track response/issue lists/resolutions from vendors to ensure vendors meet the required SLAs
• Preferably, able to write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• To provide 24x7 support as a team and achieve the required SLA stated
• Perform capacity planning, and preparation for scheduled as well as ad-hoc live events
• Work across different teams within the organization on integration points and integration efforts.
• Evaluate, prototype solution designs and perform POC to satisfy these business requirements
• Prepare functional specifications that can be understood by business units and development teams
• Drive operation process and efficiency within and across the organization.
• Manage development teams, either, in-house or offshore environment.
• Conduct presentations or training session for related technologies.
• Defer and measure key performance metrics for application/system performance

Requirements

• Well versed in knowledge of an end-to-end video management platform (from content creation, ingestion, scheduling to playout)
• Expert knowledge of 3 or more of following topics -

• Video workflow and metadata management
• Programme and commercial ads scheduling
• Datawarehoue
• Knowledge of Web architecture & technologies, i.e. HTML5, CSS, Javascript, EME, MSE, Webservices, Microservices REST API
• Knowledge of cloud technologies -

• Experience with server virtualization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box), monitoring systems
• Experience with infrastructure automation software (e.g., Puppet, Docker, Vagrant)
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux & Open-Source based environments.
• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
• Expert knowledge of video technologies, i.e.MPEG, ABR, video and audio codecs
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in a similar capacity
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related discipline from a recognized Tertiary Institution
