Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced lead engineer, with a strong focus on platform networking and security; to design, implement, and operate virtualized network environments. This role will cover the full lifecycle of virtual networking - from architecture to policy enforcement to continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will drive the execution of Day 1 implementation as a Subject Matter Expert and oversee Day 2 operations and continuous improvement. Working with a dynamic, forward-thinking team and be a key player in driving strong governance of Day 2 operations.
He/she has good communication skills, is a competent negotiator, demonstrates resiliency, good at problem solving and can engage & influence effectively both the internal and external stakeholders. He/she is adaptable to change in an agile and volatile environment while taking ownership and deliver works with integrity.
Role & Responsibilities

• Responsible for system virtualization platform, virtual networking and security; design, implementation, management, and maintenance - including, VPC (virtual private cloud), overlays, gateways, routing, and distributed firewalls
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and application teams to align enforcement points and policy models (i.e., micro segmentation policies to control traffic)
• Analyse traffic flows, recommend segmentation improvements, and refine policy sets
• Integrate virtual networking with existing data centre's network fabrics
• Ensure high availability, performance and security of platform networking and security solutions, including monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and lifecycle management
• Monitor compliance, perform audits, and lead incident response in coordination with cross-functional teams
• Drive incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Document procedures, runbooks, and training for team members
• Develop plans including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
• Ensure accurate allocation of resources, providing leadership to cross-functional teams
• Provides regular update to key stakeholders and management, communicate risks, escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards
• Analyse and validate design with technical teams to ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations are in place for virtual networking components
• Conduct traffic flow analysis to define and refine segmentation policies
• Provide clear requirements to automation engineers to develop Infrastructure as Code (IaS) blueprints and runbooks; for deploying network and security configurations. Drive, monitor and track progress.

Requirements
Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent discipline
• Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in virtual networking and security roles

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in performing network analysis and troubleshooting using network and protocol analysers, packet capture tools.
• Solid foundation in networking fundamentals - Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, ACLs.
• Familiar with zero trust security models, least privilege access, and traffic visibility concepts.
• Exposure in integrating Nutanix with enterprise networking platforms (e.g. Cisco ACI) is a bonus
• Vendor certifications in system virtual networking such as Nutanix (NCP-NCI) or VMware (VCP-NV) are highly preferred.
