Job Description

The Table Tennis Instructor will be responsible for designing, planning, and conducting a structured and progressive Table Tennis training programme that caters to students' developmental stages and skill levels. The instructor will work closely with the Teacher-in-Charge to foster students' passion for Table Tennis while inculcating good values, sportsmanship, and teamwork.


The instructor will:

Plan, design, and implement

a comprehensive Table Tennis training programme that covers skill acquisition, tactical understanding, and competition readiness.

Conduct regular training sessions

(e.g., weekly CCA sessions) to develop students' technical proficiency in serving, rallying, footwork, and match play strategies.

Differentiate training

for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players to ensure appropriate skill progression.

Prepare students for competitions

, including the National School Games (NSG) and other inter-school or internal tournaments.

Develop students' sportsmanship and values

, emphasizing teamwork, integrity, resilience, and respect.

Organize friendly matches and internal assessments

to track progress and readiness for competitions.

Assist in the selection of team members

, including conducting trials and evaluations in collaboration with the teacher-in-charge.

Provide feedback and reports

on students' progress, attendance, and performance.

Ensure safety standards

and proper use of equipment during training.

Support school events

such as CCA exhibitions, open houses, and enrichment activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum

MOE-registered Coach or Instructor

with a valid

MOE CCA Instructor Registration

. Certified under

Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA)

or

SportSG (NCAP/SG-Coach Level 1 or above)

. Valid

Standard First Aid and AED Certification

.

Experience:

Prior experience in coaching Table Tennis at school or club level, preferably with youth or student athletes. Demonstrated track record of preparing students for competitions such as NSG or zonal tournaments. Experience in differentiated coaching and performance evaluation.

Skills and Attributes:

Strong understanding of Table Tennis fundamentals, tactics, and competition rules. Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers and students. Responsible, punctual, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality training. Passionate about youth development, character building, and values education through sport.
