Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

Under the leadership of the Global Wealth Management (GWM) APAC Business Risk Organization (BRO) office, the APAC Client Tax team will act to strengthen the control framework as well as to ensure compliance of all operational activities with the respective regulations and regulators. You will:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory requirements relating to Client Tax and staying current on regulations.
  • Lead and drive change initiatives relating to Client Tax, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement new processes and procedures.
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact for internal stakeholders, addressing their queries, providing guidance and offer expert insights on Client Tax related matters.
  • Gain exposure to key front-to-back business processes that are critical for the division thereby allowing you to actively identify and assess Client Tax risks across APAC and where relevant, recommend creative solutions to handle, mitigate and monitor identified risks and address underlying issues by driving process changes or improvements to the controls.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement corrective action plans to ensure the closure of audit findings and compliance issues.
  • Prepare and handle interactions with internal / external auditors, Controls & Testing Assurance team or any regulatory inspections, addressing any gaps identified and tracking & monitoring the related actions items to closure.
  • Oversee the governance process to ensure adherence to the established Client Tax framework.
  • Conduct training for new joiners and when required (e.g. new regulation/process implemented).
Qualifications
  • Experience in financial services is mandatory.
  • Strong preference for persons with experience working in private banking front office, strategy, business management or risk functions. Knowledge of client tax compliance requirements is advantageous.
  • Excellent skills on use of Excel spreadsheets and reporting.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and actively across a range of individual and groups.
  • Fluent in English is mandatory (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to plan delivery and track progress against milestones.
  • Experience collaborating with different stakeholders and teams.
  • A winning personality and a good team player with a can-do attitude
