Purpose Statement

The unique opportunity within the Corporate Tax function to serve as the APAC Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager. The APAC Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager plays a critical role in the region and will be responsible for the APAC region/country tax planning, tax analysis, and oversight/review of tax filings. In association with others in the Corporate Tax Department, the APAC Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager will manage tax risk while enabling the Company to minimize its APAC tax burden.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Financial Statements and Tax Compliance:

• Coordinates and reviews financial statements and tax returns in the region to ensure reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensures compliance with regional tax rules/regulations and reporting requirements

2. Legislative Monitoring and Communication:

• Monitors and analyzes proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, administrative guidance, court cases, etc. in the region
• Communicates impact of legislative changes to relevant stakeholders

3. Tax Research and Planning:

• Performs tax research when needed and provides recommendations
• Assists in the structuring and planning of acquisitions, reorganizations, and integrations
• Assists in legal entity rationalization projects

4. Tax Audits and Risk Management:

• Assists with tax audits and ensures all tax authority inquiries are addressed in a timely manner
• Communicates identified risks and implements risk mitigation strategies

5. Transfer Pricing and Financial Reporting:

• Assists in a wide variety of transfer pricing projects/matters in the region
• Assists in the financial reporting and close processes as it relates to income tax accounting

6. Relationship Building:

• Builds internal and external relationships to understand the business/landscape and related changes
• Identifies and communicates local tax planning opportunities or risk mitigation strategies stemming from change

7. Collaboration and Project Management:

• Works with/manages outside tax advisors on various tax projects
• Educates and partners with regional and local finance teams on various tax matters
• Collaborates with the Corporate Tax Department and the wider organization on various initiatives

Qualifications

• 8 - 10+ years of related work experience in a public accounting and/or a corporate tax department in industry
• Solid foundational knowledge in international tax concepts/rules and local country taxation in Asia Pacific region, including transfer pricing
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to multi-task, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines within a fast paced environment
• Ability to build relationships cross functionally and influence people and results
• Proven ability to collaborate successfully as a member of a high performing team
• Ability to work independently without direction on a daily basis
• Willingness to travel across region regularly and globally as needed
