About the Course

Vertical Institute's

Data Science Course

provides learners with practical, in-demand skills in Python programming, data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, and machine learning. Through a hands-on, project-based approach, learners are introduced to industry-standard tools such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn, preparing them for real-world data science roles.

Classes are held during weekday evenings or weekends and led by an experienced instructor, supported by a teaching assistant.

Role Overview

As a

Teaching Assistant

, you will support the lead instructor in delivering a smooth, engaging, and effective learning experience. You'll assist learners during live sessions, troubleshoot coding issues, and offer continuous support throughout the course.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the instructor during live Zoom classes Guide learners through hands-on labs and exercises across all modules, including:

Python

programming for data science, Data wrangling with

NumPy

and

Panda,

Exploratory data analysis and visualization, Machine learning concepts (regression, classification) using scikit-learn Provide learner support through our Telegram community and e-learning platform, helping to answer questions and resolve technical issues Accurately track and mark attendance in compliance with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) standards Share learner insights and feedback with the academic team to enhance the course experience and outcomes

Qualifications and Skills

Proficient in

Python

and key

data science libraries

(NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn) Solid understanding of

data manipulation

,

exploratory data analysis

, and

basic machine learning algorithms

Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively to beginners Confident in virtual facilitation using Zoom, with a reliable remote setup (camera, microphone, stable internet) Prior experience as a teaching assistant, mentor, or trainer is an advantage
