Job Description


This position of Technical Accountant will perform technical accounting and credit control management for Direct and Reinsurance classes of business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Record and bank-in all cheques received
  • Posting cash receipts, cash payments and journal vouchers for Syndicate
  • Allocation of receipts and payments for Syndicate
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of internal technical reports such as monthly written and paid premium bordereau to London
  • Perform chasers for overdue debts and cash allocations for individual insurance policies
  • Responsible for premiums collections by handling queries, monitor and expedite collection of brokers\xe2\x80\x99 outstanding balances, and preparation of credit control reports giving updates on collections for management review
  • Responsible for processing statements of accounts received from brokers/cedents in system
  • Analyse accounts receivables and ageing of accounts to determine overdue accounts, review provisions and collection procedures aiming to reduce / eliminate overdue balances
  • To assist on internal and external reporting such as Management accounts
  • To manage properly other ad-hoc tasks as and when assigned by management
Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge or experience in various Direct and Facultative Insurance classes of business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High integrity and ethics
  • High level of independence and initiative
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks professionally to completion before deadline
  • Works effectively in a team-based environment
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
