As Technical Category Manager \xe2\x80\x93 SSD and Convenience Food, you are part of our APAC Application & Technical Services Team and will play a key role in providing technical support to our customers in ASEAN, India, and ANZ with a key focus on Soups Sauces Dressings (SSD) and Convenience Food category. The key purpose of the role is to partner with sales to accelerate the business growth of Tate & Lyle Asia Pacific in the SSD & Convenience Food category About You We\xe2\x80\x99re looking to recruit a Technical Category Manager \xe2\x80\x93 SSD and Convenience Food in Singapore, reporting to the Senior Technical Services Manager based in Singapore. You will also lead a team of 3 who are based in Singapore and Indonesia. This is a varied role for a person who enjoys challenges and leads technical services to customers and supports the sales team in project initiations for the assigned regions. Focusing on the development of differentiated solutions in the SSD and convenience category, based on future operation plans in Asia, and supporting the new business growth of existing and new ingredients. Explore future opportunities in food coatings, vegan foods, alternative proteins, sugar reduction, and fibre enhancement in ready meals and convenience foods. The expectation is that the individual is an accomplished food applications technical person with a strong capability to create or develop added value based on customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements. A solid understanding of ingredients and processing in SSD/convenience food is a big plus. A strong grasp of English is important given the level of interaction expected with the regional/global ATS team. • Develop and maintain technical partnerships with SSD and convenience foods customers\xe2\x80\x99 R&D teams. Engage Customer\xe2\x80\x99s R&D team including top management through frequent engagement and showcase h T&L solution-driven capabilities to drive innovation projects. To work with regional teams to identify customers per country for the engagement.

• Support building of direct Indonesia businesses by working with APAC TS team members of all categories to develop practical and affordable T&L ingredient solutions in customer-specific applications/processes and make the best recommendations to customers and channel partners

• To conduct pilot or commercial trials with customers to test the recommendations when required and seek opportunities to conduct OTJ training of direct reports.

• Together with APAC category leads to manage and drive PUSH projects and support PULL projects by conducting discussions with customers and when required, application trials

• To work closely with APAC TS, Commercial, Marketing, and CDP to align business goals, utilising tools such as SFDC to lead and manage projects together with local sales, document progress, and maintain communications and relationships with key customers

• Execute projects in a statistical and scientific manner to assure technical success and to document results accordingly, utilising tools such as PLM

• To write clear and effective laboratory reports for submission and/or recording purposes to ensure continuity and sharing of technical successes.

• Working with TS Manager Indonesia to complete the design and maintenance program of the Indonesia TS laboratory, procurement of equipment by sourcing for local suppliers, and obtaining quotes.

• To lead in setting up SOP for instruments and equipment according to APAC best practices

• Coach and guide direct reports on project works, impart knowledge, drive performance enhancement and discuss career developments.

• Support trade shows, and customer technical presentations and actively participate in global texturant platform knowledge sharing

• You must have a safety mindset and work with various stakeholders to assist the company to achieve EHS Excellence.

This role is assigned to our Singapore office located in Biopolis (Buona Vista MRT)

• Degree or Masters\xe2\x80\x99 Degree in Food Science / Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 \xe2\x80\x93 15 years of experience in food applications and experiences in any of the 4 categories (Beverages, Dairy, Bakery & Snacks, SSD/Convenience Food).
• People Management experience
• Must have hands-on experience in dairy prototyping and conducting pilot trials.
• Trained in handling food analytical instruments in the areas of rheology.
• Trained in handling process equipment e.g. various types of cookers, colloid mills, homogenizers, fryers, etc.
• Knowledge and/or experience with food specialty ingredients \xe2\x80\x93 sweeteners, fiber, modified starches as well as hydrocolloids is a plus
