Bachelor\'s or Masters\' qualification in a relevant environmental specialism.
9+ years experience in an environmental specialism and a broader awareness of other environmental or social disciplines.
Experienced in leading the delivery of environmental work by multi-disciplinary teams. Including ESIA and due diligence for major infrastructure projects.
An extensive understanding and application of applying international environmental and social requirements such as Equator Principles, as well as safeguards of international finance institutions such as Asian Development Bank, International Finance Corporation and World Bank Group among others.
Effective leadership and management skills with the ability to foster a positive team environment, lift individual/team performance, manage workload & performance and champion technical leadership initiatives.
Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills with the ability to make robust, defensible decisions while meeting challenging budgets and timescales.
Familiarity with the general technical concepts of major infrastructure projects (in sectors such as energy, transport and water).
Aptitude in the identification, progression, delivery and success in tendering for new project opportunities.
Knowledge and interest to provide report reviews and mentoring of junior staff.
Excellent English language skills (spoken and written) and at least one regional South East Asian language.

This is a fantastic advisory consultancy leadership opportunity to be part of a growing business in this specialist area that operates at the leading edge of delivering environmental services for projects in the Asia region. You will help lead the delivery of our Environmental & Social (E&S) consultancy in a fast paced, client focused commercial environment. You will be part of a dynamic environmental practice that works collaboratively with various Mott MacDonald regional and global teams to deliver environmental and social studies.
You will bring a dynamic and engaging approach to this client facing role and you will work within a multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for providing leadership on inputs for environmental and social aspects across a range of projects across multiple infrastructure sectors, working collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure both project objectives are delivered successfully, within budget and to programme. The focus of the role will be on environmental assessment for a variety of projects particularly in Asia. We work on some of the most significant projects in the region including renewable and thermal generation, buildings and infrastructure, water and transportation projects.
Key elements of the role include:
Team leadership including developing and implementing development plans and strategic initiatives to facilitate growth in the E&S market in support of the wider Asia E&S teams.
Environmental impact assessment, environmental due diligence and monitoring.
Project leadership/delivery and managing project teams, clients and sub-consultants.
Business development, proposals and work winning activities.
You will be office based however there will be a requirement to undertake site visits and attend client meetings across the Asia region.
