Our vision is to be a caring community of inspired learners committed to serving with mastery.Singapore Maritime Academy offers diploma courses in Nautical Studies, Marine Engineering and Maritime Business as well as professional courses for deck and engineering officers.As part of the technical support team of the Singapore Maritime Academy, the successful appointee is expected to undertake a variety of routine and non-routine duties for the workshop/laboratory under his/her charge.- The candidate must possess good knowledge and adequate experience in machining (i.e., turning, milling, grinding, bench-fitting, etc.). Relevant knowledge in welding (electric & gas) as an added skillset will be advantageous.- He/she is expected to be involved as an instructor as per applicable lesson plans and timetables under the functional supervision of module coordinators and/or lecturers as required.- The Technical Executive is required to troubleshoot issues on equipment/systems (lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, PC\'s, etc.).- He/she needs to ensure the smooth daily operation of the workshop/laboratory under his/her charge to support uninterrupted conduct of lessons.- Primary responsibilities include facility management, technical support, procurement, maintenance of equipment, asset management, maintain inventory list, upkeep facility and ensure safe practices in compliance with the Workplace Safety & Health Act.- Provide operational/administrative support to school functions, e.g., Open House, examinations, tests, social events.What you will be working on:Responsibilities:-Provision of quality workshop/lab management at SMA Basic Engineering Workshop.Provision of quality technical support services at SMA Basic Engineering Workshop.To procure necessary equipment, spare parts and tools required consumables.To oversee and manage all fixed and small value assets listed under his/her charge.Supporting SP and SMA events.What we are looking for:Requirements:-Must be a team player.Able to think and carry out orders objectively.Have a genuine passion to help with imparting knowledge to students.Able to tolerate, empathize and manage young teenagers.Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.Closing Date: 30 April 2024If you are shortlisted for the position(s), you should hear from us within 30 days of the closing date of the advertisement.About Singapore Polytechnic:As Singapore\'s first polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) prides ourselves in providing the best learning experience for our students in pre-employment and continuing adult education.
