Job Purpose The Technical Officer (Signal Field Service) works in a team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of railway signalling systems and platform screen doors to improve its reliability. He assists in the preparation of maintenanc Job Purpose The Technical Officer (Signal Field Service) works in a team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of railway signalling systems and platform screen doors to improve its reliability. He assists in the preparation of maintenance activities and is technically inclined and adept in handling electronics and computer-based systems and equipment for maintenance. He also supervises the works of contractors and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to operating requirements, quality standards and safety standards. He may be required to perform shift duties at various rail premises such as depots, train stations, viaduct, and tunnels. He is capable of communicating effectively within the team, is able to multi-task and can prioritize his assigned maintenance workload in supporting maintenance activities. Responsibilities 1. To provide 1st line fault response and recovery 2. To perform timely trackside CM activities including fault troubleshooting, rectification and testing 3. To plan and carried out trackside PM work according to schedule 4. To perform trackside equipment overhaul activities and to ensure that the programs adhere to the schedule 5. To carry out day-to-day monitoring of equipment performance and follow up 6. To carry out day-to-day fault analysis and follow up 7. To assist in managing and controlling of maintenance spares 8. To perform tasks in compliance with relevant procedures and instructions contained in Quality Procedures, Work Specifications, Work Instructions, Signal Standing Instructions and any relevant change instructions disseminated 9. To operate safely and efficiently all Signal Measuring, Test Equipment, Instruments and Tools 10. To comply with and exercise safety at all times in accordance to all Safety Procedures. 11. To be responsible for the safety of self, peers at workplace off and on trackside throughout working period 12. To carry-out the role of PIC and PM duties and responsibilities 13. To complete the necessary reports for the task at hand 14. To ensure good housekeeping workplace Qualifications & Work Experience Qualifications and work experience include: . Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent . Preferably 2 years' experience in a fast paced maintenance environment Skills Technical skills include: .
