Job Summary:
\xc2\xa7 Assumes total responsibility for the completion of assigned projects within negotiated time and cost schedules. \xc2\xa7 Conducts a wide range of test procedures on sample equipment to the applicable standards and interprets results of the test. Determines or works with Certifier confirming which tests are required; the order in which to perform tests and the number of samples required. Performs tests and calculations, compiles data and summarizes test results into test reports and checklists. Verifies calculations are consistent with results of measurements. Determines whether product passes or fails subject to review by Certifier. \xc2\xa7 Assembles and disassembles test samples, hooks-up laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing; operates most laboratory test equipment without supervision. \xc2\xa7 Records technical data, draft reports, writes product descriptions. Performs mathematical calculations required to summarize test results. Relates test results to product specifications. Acts as a liaison with other departments as required by supervisor. \xc2\xa7 Notes and records substandard features of products which may appear before or during the tests and refer them to PGM, Lab Manager or Certifier. \xc2\xa7 Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carry out assigned laboratory clean-up duties. \xc2\xa7 Responsible for follow-up for any non-conformances as a result of
calibration, with guidance from supervisor. \xc2\xa7 Responsible for the integrity of customer samples while in the lab as per DQDs. \xc2\xa7 Interacts with jobholder / certifier to plan activities, exchange information, review and approve lab reports and certification records. \xc2\xa7 Maintains and initiates direct certifier and client contact to provide information and answer questions or obtain more product information. Interprets the client\'s needs and provides general and specific information about the certification process or status of an application to assist the jobholder and improve overall customer service and satisfaction. Provides certifier / client with detailed interpretation of test results and construction evaluation and how it applies to the status of their certification. \xc2\xa7 May make field trips and assist in work outside the laboratories as required. \xc2\xa7 Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. \xc2\xa7 Processes paperwork jobs from opening to distribution where no engineering is involved (i.e. alternative construction, change of records and multiple listings) if required.
