Responds readily to any train-borne equipment failure in depot and mainline, and to effect restoration of a failed system or equipment to a normal and safe operating state in shortest possible time
Maintains, repairs, trouble-shoots, inspects, diagnoses all rolling stock equipment, and to provide first line corrective actions to other train-borne signaling, communication and VPIS equipment
Performs pre-service checks on trains prior to revenue service and rectify any abnormality encountered during inspections
Shunts and drives Electric Trains when the need arises
Undertakes modification works and fleet-wide checks
Assists Senior / Assistant Engineer in planning and organizing maintenance activities
Ensures strict compliance and adherence to the safety rules and regulations, reports any hazard to the management
Maintains maintenance records and documentation in accordance with ISO 9002 quality standards and procedures
