Description:

The Trade Service officer is part of the Singapore Trade Operations team. The role is to forge client and business partner relationships, delivering client delight and provide prompt solutions to clients\xe2\x80\x99 requests. You will also have day to day direct ownership of activity for some of those key clients.
This role offers a high level of visibility, and Trade Service officers will work in very close conjunction with a number of other internal Client Service teams in APAC region and multiple business leaders to provide seamless delivery and support to a variety of clients and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Trade Servicing:

  • Attend to all trade related inquiries, requests and complaints from clients or business partners regarding all products handled by trade operations
  • Assist business partners in obtaining data for client visits and service reviews
  • Participate in client service reviews together with business partners at client\xe2\x80\x99s premises
  • Review Trade board resolutions drafted by clients and advise if changes are required
  • Provide instructions to processing team on how they should be processing live transactions
  • Harness the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s varied resources and work within internal partners to deliver exceptional and pro-active service to clients worldwide.
  • Act as primary escalation & accountability point for clients.
  • Provide value-added proactive servicing activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects
  • Ensure full compliance of all applicable laws, regulations, credit, KYC. AML policies and exercise appropriate delegated authority.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by the Trade Client Services Manager.
  • Actively join in, support & implement local or regional projects as assigned by the Trade Client Services Manager.
  • Adhoc tasks as assigned by team managers
Export LC Payments:
  • Scan incoming instructions from clients received via fax to Business Partners team for further processing
  • Send billing advices to customers for interest resets.
  • Handle the processing of returned documents by correspondent banks
  • Filing and recording.
Trade Advance Loans:
  • Provide instructions to Business Partners team on the processing of transactions
  • Liaise with FI sales to resolve any irregularities in transactions
  • Monthly review files for Compliance team.
Supply Chain
  • Review documents submitted by client for discrepancies.
  • Scan document to Business Partners team for further processing
  • Ensure all requests are processed timely in accordance with the client\xe2\x80\x99s SLA.
  • Update register for monitoring and statistics.
  • Prepare and arrange for payment schedule. Liaise with customer for discrepancies or clarifications
  • Scan drafts under the Draft Program.
  • Ensure all due loans are liquidated timely and all past due items are escalated accordingly.
Risk Participation
  • Follow up with various business partners to ensure transaction are processed promptly
  • Scanning request documents for processing
  • Provide instructions to Business Partners team for irregular transactions
  • Ensure all requests are processed timely and lines are booked and entries passed for all loans sold.
  • Ensure all loans are roll-over on reset date and interest paid to participating bank(s).
  • Ensure all loans are liquidated on due date and all past due items are escalated accordingly.
Key Requirements
  • At least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 working experience in area of Client Services in the bank concentrating on Trade Finance. Experience in servicing Bank and Non-Bank Financial Institution client is a benefit.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize the daily work to achieve efficient and effective management of time.
  • Be able to work well with all associates and actively promote a cohesive working environment.
  • Be client focused in providing a high level or customer service and conscientiously aware of the quick turnaround time on the checking of documents.
  • Excellent presentations, communication, time management, problem solving, interpersonal and team work skills.
Desired Skills
  • Basic knowledge of trade products.
  • Basic PC skills (Words, Excel, PowerPoint is minimum).
  • Innovative and open minded, maintaining a professional & positive attitude at all times.
  • Able to work under pressure & challenges.
  • Good understanding and application of the UCP600, ISBP, URC 522, URDG 758 and bank guideline and policies, compliance and audit requirements.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of OFAC/Anti-boycott/Anti-Money Laundering/High Risks Transaction.
