We are representing a commodity trading house for a Trade Finance Executive position.
Responsibilities
Prepare, process, and handle all trade finance related functions
Issuance of TF related instruments to suppliers and counterparties, i.e. Import LC, SBLC, Guarantee, Bid Bonds, Performance bonds etc.
Prepare, pre-check export LC and documents against contract and ILC to ensure compliant presentation
Advise necessary amendments/revisions to ensure workability of all trade finance instruments
Prepare ELC required documentation such as commercial invoice, beneficiary certificates, insurance certificates etc.
Manage all aspects of trade settlement, import payments, applying for trust receipts loan, export negotiation, account receivables financing
Entering payments into bank’s online platforms for funds transfer, payments, lines rebooking etc.
Create, upload and update trade progress onto the in-house system platform
Monitor and track payables/receivables of counterparties in in-house systems
Coordinate with banks to obtain bank limits for confirmation and discounting, FX/treasury matters
Liaise with other functional groups including traders, trade execution teams and accounting to resolve execution issues and provide assistance where necessary
Assist with yearly audit process by sharing trade documentation, answering trade questions where necessary
Familiarization with banking facilities, structures and limits to practically apply them to the physical trades executed to maximise leverage
Assist in cargo insurance declarations
Perform KYC of counterparty where necessary
Assist in bank account opening procedures
Facilitate innovation and work process improvements through idea generation and applying of business knowledge
Ad-hoc improvement projects when assigned
Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience in commodities trade finance (back office or middle office) within a trading house or bank
Understanding of UCP600, URC, ISBP and Incoterms
