Job Purpose and Impact

We seek a Trading Assistant to work within the Global Trading team to help manage a portfolio of multiple commodities with a specific focus on APAC region. In this role, you will help to develop, implement and execute investment strategies and control risks by performing more complex trading work.

Key Accountabilities

  • A strong interest in financial markets and willingness to learn about the risk & trading practices.
  • Apply deep understanding of option analytics to develop and execute the trading strategies and help manage the overall greeks of the portfolios.
  • Using quantitative skills as well as statistical analysis to monitor trading positions and exposures.
  • Work with external and internal stakeholders and agents, as needed, to execute and manage the portfolio.
  • Work on projects ranging from in-depth analysis to price/volatility prediction algorithms and maintaining commodity balance sheet information
  • Develop new market and trading capabilities within APAC region.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience along with experience and understanding of programming languages (Python, Excel, etc)
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience: Agriculture/Petchem/ Metals/ Energy/Financial/FX background as well as understanding of vanilla derivatives
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing new approaches to hedging, including using financial or physical trading and positioning tactics
  • Experience trading multiple local APAC or Cross markets and formulating opinions on market direction and price relationships
  • Skillful in formulating a bias via fundamental analysis and articulate the bias to various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Money-making experience in making markets, trading bespoke commodity books, or positioning around customer flow
  • Derivatives (Futures & Options) trading experience is preferable
