Claxton are looking to hire a Trainee Project Engineer on a full time, permanent basis based at their Facility in Singapore. Reporting to the Operations and Projects Manager, the dedicated Trainee Project Engineer responsible for helping to co-ordinate all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, offshore coordination, forecasting, managing technical activities, as well as ensuring remained within budget in order to meet the requirements of the customer\'s needs.

The Trainee Project Engineer will work closely with more senior staff on simple projects under close supervision and the work will be reviewed frequently. The Trainee Project Engineer will be working within well-established practices on a clearly defined scope of work. The Trainee Project Engineer is also required to assist with the day-to-day assistance to service, repairs and testing of Claxton equipment systems, and be involved in any new build projects. To assist with the required planned maintenance & repairs of all company owned equipment such as water abrasive cutting systems, mechanical cutting equipment, friction stud welding systems, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, subsea dredging equipment, conductor driving systems and hammers and others.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Help to coordinate all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, installation, and offshore coordination
  • React promptly and effectively to changing client, equipment, onshore and offshore needs
  • Produce deliverables on-time to customer requirements, clarifying these requirements where necessary
  • Assist performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project\'s status.
  • Cooperating and communicating with the Project Manager together with other project participants. Collaborating with other stakeholders to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project\'s profitability.
  • Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
  • Support with costing any changes in specifications
  • Define the customer specification into either a departmental action or subcontractor order
  • Support with analysing customer and internal changes, including feasibility study
  • Produce clear, focused and understandable explanations for change requests
  • Track customer changes and track tasks against the project timing plan
  • Attend and participate in customer meetings when required
  • Help manage suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time to the required quality standard
  • Apply specific technical skills as required to support the customer or colleagues
  • Be willing and available to work at company and customer premises as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Quality control of work by appropriate reviews
  • Support and participate in process improvement activities
  • Write simple reports and provide information to management
  • Achieve goals within budget
  • Plan projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented
  • Be aware and work to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
  • Undertake continuous training and development
  • Participate in root cause analysis and resolving problems
  • Agree the approach to be taken to assigned tasks
  • Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Sales support with proposal preparation and costing.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
