As a Tunnel Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing all aspects of the tunnelling activities. You need to plan out the daily tunnelling activities and monitor progress. To ensure success as a tunnel engineer, you should have extensive experience with civil engineering and tunnel design, in-depth knowledge of construction techniques, and excellent project management skills
- Oversee day to day site operations
- Obtaining the necessary permits and approvals.
- Ensure effective coordination among shift engineers and ensure smooth shift change
- Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with method statement
- Prepare tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensure the work has been carried out following schedule
- Conducting on-site safety and progress inspections
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural, Geological or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university;
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in bored tunnelling project
- Experience with tunnel construction in hard and soft rock conditions.
- Understanding and background in geology and site investigation
- Ambitious, highly motivated and strong interest in tunnels and tunnelling
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
