About the Role

To support the business plan of Corporate Solutions (\xe2\x80\x9cCorSo\xe2\x80\x9d) in Asia Pacific by underwriting Power & Utility and Renewable Energy Property risks according to CorSo\'s guidelines and best practice and by assuming responsibility for developing and managing client relationships (brokers and corporates). This is an intermediate level role but offers opportunities for advancement within a few years.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand Group and CorSo sales and underwriting strategy and be able to translate it into concrete business relevant actions

• Build a network of contacts with decision makers within the broker/client\'s organization

• Attend client and broker meetings with visits and site inspections where necessary.

• Renew allocated existing book of business and underwrite new business by assessing the risk, coverage, terms and conditions. Rates the business within the available rating tool landscape.

• Underwrite the business within guidelines efficiently and effectively and in accordance with Swiss Re\'s processes, procedures, philosophy and risk appetite.

• Negotiate terms & conditions with the broker and client in line with the business plan and corporate guidelines.

• Closely work within the underwriting team and other relevant stakeholders in the Group (Products/Risk Engineering /Claims Management/Actuaries).

• Manage post underwriting tasks such as amendments/endorsements, project risk management and claims coordination.

• Ensure compliance with Swiss Re guidelines

• Act in compliance with the Swiss Re Code of Conduct

About You

Education & Professional Experience

• University degree or equivalent with an underwriting relevant component preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant insurance experience.
• Strong preference for South East Asia market experience.
• Good level of knowledge and experience in the Power or Renewable industries is of advantage.
• Strong technical underwriting background and focus on service excellence with proven business impact.
• Ability to assess complex risks, coverage, terms and conditions of a (re)insurance placement.
• Proficiency in the use of underwriting tools and IT applications. Flair for numbers

Language & Technical skills

• Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in another Asian Language is highly desirable.
• Analytical problem solving skills.
• Strong financial acumen with insurance market proficiency as well as Property underwriting and insurance products.
• Strong background in numerical and actuarial analysis.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguous/incomplete information at times.
• Solid understanding of the insurance environment including understanding of trends and their impact on clients and Swiss Re
