Role Summary: Responsible for coordinating and supervising a group of corporate legal practitioners in the organizaion and providing sound legal advice to the business.

Responsibilities:

a. Support a variety of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and investments in purchases and sales of properties This includes:

  • advising internal commercial teams and stakeholders;
  • managing and liaising with external counsel;
  • conducting and/or managing key aspects of due diligence as required; and
  • drafting and execution.
b. Monitoring legal risk in real estate documentation and giving the correct advice to clients

c. Managing regulatory and compliance-related services

d. Ensuring that suitable approvals are prepared before real estate transactions are carried out

e. Drafting routine leases and amendments, as well as drafting and negotiating real estate transactions

f. Supporting legal and general advisory needs associated with a large-scale real estate portfolio

g. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for real estate transactions.

h. Other ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned from time to time

Requirements

a. Bachelor of Law degree with at least 15 years of relevant corporate and M&A experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department relating to real estate.

b. Direct deal experience performing due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, coordinating cross-functional deal teams and advising business stakeholders.

c. Strong working knowledge of lease transactions, and property management

d. Strong communication and project management skills and ability to manage a diverse workload effectively.

e. Being an analytical thinker who can work through legal issues and provide solutions

f. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate ideas and propositions effectively and accurately to internal stakeholders and other professionals

g. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and strong experience in real estate law
