Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tax advisory to internal stakeholders, including but not limited to local hires, international assignees, permanent transfers and business travelers on tax and employment arrangement to ensure tax efficiency and compliance, while balancing between the needs and priorities of the firm and the stakeholders.
  • Assist internal stakeholders to ensure compliant reporting, filing process and successfully resolve queries from the authorities and auditors.
  • Perform periodic review and streamline internal work processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implementation of HR risk management strategies and policies.
  • Partner with external advisors and internal functional teams, where relevant, to manage risk and ensure compliance
  • Communicate relevant risk management policies and regulatory requirements and the related implications and impact to stakeholders
  • Maintain awareness of trends on developments around regulatory and statutory requirements (e.g. PDPA, Employment Act, Fair Employment Practices, Industrial Relations, CPF Act, IRAS, immigration etc.) in order to establish the implications for the organization, and to embed these developments into HR processes to ensure proper controls and compliance are effected and managed
  • Monitor the changes to the employment tax regime including benefits in kind and do an impact analysis on the current reporting practice and recommend changes (if needed) to make it compliant
  • Monitor and track remediation of compliance gaps promptly; escalate other Compliance matters, if required (e.g. new initiative, projects or processes).
Requirements :
  • Degree from recognized universities.
  • Minimum of 10 -12 years of experience in tax advisory and/or HR risk and compliance.
  • Demonstrates creativity in the evaluating employment tax/CPF related issues and comes up with possible alternatives
  • Can effectively communicate complex tax issues verbally as well as in writing.
  • Has the ability to adapt to new/changing circumstances/ situations.
  • Strong understanding of processes within the HR Value Chain and Employee Life Cycle.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management and employment laws.
  • Ability to understand and articulate business objectives, risks and dependencies.
  • Ability to synthesize, analyze, interpret and translate relevant and complex information clearly.
  • Ability to assess risks & identify pragmatic solutions in the context of conflicting demands.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently and influence stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills and strong attention to details.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Works well in a team
