Your background

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably in an Agile construct.
  • Experience in Core Banking transformation, and in designing core banking solutions that fit into a complex product ecosystem.
  • Hands-on industry experience in Real Time Payments implementation, along with deep knowledge of interface requirements with enterprise systems/last mile gateways/regulatory systems.
  • Keen appreciation of challenges associated with implementing low-latency, high availability, scalable, and resilient infrastructure. Experience in designing solutions to address these challenges.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills. Consulting mind-set with aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of the Wholesale Banking domain: e.g., deposits, payments, receivables, liquidity management, accounting, credit management, FX.
  • Ability to capture and articulate clear, unambiguous detailed functional requirements to both Business and Technical users.
  • Ability to take a high-level design and define/drive the low-level solution design with both Business and Technical users.
  • Ability to drive senior level discussions with good presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in complex matrix organization setup. Ability to influence & work with regional and global partners/stakeholders to drive the program forward.
  • In-depth knowledge on ISO and SWIFT message series
  • Knowledge on API integrations.
  • Knowledge on India Markets Digital and Paper based clearing is preferred
  • Exposure in Commercial Loans, credit management & Mortgages domain is preferred
What you can expect

Bank of America has embarked on a multi-year core banking transformation journey to replace its legacy core banking platform with modern technology platforms. As part of the core banking platform transformation, the bank is revamping its end-to-end ecosystem to improve operational & technological efficiency. The core banking platform supports multiple functions in Global Banking and Markets business: e.g. payments, deposits, credit, trade finance, Credit & Loans, foreign exchange, general ledger. The platform is being built in an ongoing and agile process to easily adapt to new technologies, integrate more tools, and provide a structure that is able to evolve over time. At the core of this transformation is the Bank-in-a-Box (BiB) platform. BiB uses simpler architecture and modern technology, eliminates applications, and is easier to enhance and update.

The Bank-in-a-Box (BiB) roadmap spans several years, covering Global Payments Transformation (GPT) and Branch replacement. The first BiB implementation was successfully completed in Oct 2020 for Indonesia, to address the local regulatory requirement to host core banking infrastructure onshore. 2021 initiatives included BiB Global Payments Engine (GPE) implementations for SEPA Instant, HK Real Time Payments and Regulatory mandates such as Indonesia Direct Debits and Indonesia RTP. The GPE footprint is expected to increase significantly in 2023 and beyond, with implementations across APAC, EMEA and AMERS

A Product Owner with strong business analysis skills and experience is required to strengthen domain capability within the BiB Centre of Excellence and support this multi-year transformation journey. The candidate will play a critical role in low level solution ideation, design, and delivery on the transformation program. He/She will work with product teams, technical leads, and vendor SMEs, and will have direct accountability in ensuring that business requirements are designed and implemented as per expectations. Strong communication and engagement skills are a must.

What you will do
  • Perform impact assessment on the current state processes and identify gaps.
  • Work with Architecture/Design team to identify technology capabilities needed to meet requirements.
  • Work with Business partners to identify process impacts if any to meet requirements.
  • Work with Business Partners and Design teams to refine requirements and priority in line with system or process capabilities /cost and timelines.
  • Identify and raise risk/additional changes to Business stakeholders and work with business partners and Architecture/design to add or amend requirements as appropriate to address the risk.
  • Capture expected target end to end behavior as functional EPICs, procure sign offs from relevant stakeholders and conduct detailed walkthrough for the impacted application teams.
  • Support project PI planning.
  • Work with Design and application scrum teams in the Release Train to review the Application Tech User stories to align with end-to-end functional EPICs, maintaining end-to-end traceability.
  • Support Backlog refinement/sprint planning/user story review/test plan review/defect triage and change request generation for additional or changed requirements.
  • Participate in system design, SIT, and UAT to ensure that solutions are being delivered and tested as per requirements.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing and training on new product features.
  • Provide ongoing functional expertise to ensure project stability post go-live.
