  • Reporting into Head of Investment Services, co-lead in managing and overseeing in the area of Investment Services which cover both Insurance General Accounts (GA) and Investment Linked Products (ILP)
  • Ensure compliance to the investment mandate and other regulations, and the adoption and implementation of sound internal controls that are in line with HSBC standards
Control and Governance
  • Oversee and ensure all audit matters related to Investment Services are addressed satisfactorily and establish good partnership with auditors
  • Be overall responsible for the outsourcing and third-party management of relevance to Investment Services
  • Work with Business Risk and Control Team to identify risks through periodic oversight on processes and service providers
  • Review and responsible in ensuring Standard Operating Procedures of quality standard and constantly updated to meet the ever-changing process requirements
  • Create and update investment control documentations to address both internal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and produce incident reports with timely remediation measures as when needed
  • Provide advice on internal control and oversight matters
Change Management
  • Be the change agent of the department with transformation mind-set
  • Review and re-engineer workflow processes undertaken in Investment Services to streamline and improve efficiency as well as mitigating risks of errors
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders including investments, finance, risk and 3rd party service providers to effect changes in Investment Services
Business and Project Management
  • Lead and/or support major projects that are of relation to Investment Services and to work closely with both Group Insurance Investment Services and Project teams
  • Participate in key business initiatives with Business as Usual (BAU) team leads including fund corporate actions, fund manager transition and new fund manager onboarding
  • Support full lifecycle of GA and/or ILP BAU activities on need basis
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Candidate with 10 to 12 years\xe2\x80\x99 solid experience in audit and risk management, preferably within Insurance or Banking industry
  • Educational qualification: University graduate. Additional professional qualification in Investment, Finance or Six Sigma Certification will be viewed favourably
  • Good knowledge in local regulations such as Monetary Authority of Singapore Notice 307 and Securities and Futures Act
  • Good understanding in investment instruments such as equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and derivatives
  • Ability to work under pressure as well as tight deadline
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload while working in an agile manner
  • Prepared to be hands-on and deliver high quality output
  • Comfortable and able to make sound decisions in conflicting environment
  • Strong risk and control mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work under minimal supervision and deliver quality output
