The Department of Communications and New Media is seeking applicants for the position of Visiting Fellow in Communication and New Media, specialising in mass communication, media effects, media writing and strategic communication. Applicants should demonstrate a keen understanding of current and emerging trends in the communications industry, as well as excellence and innovation in practice-led pedagogy.QualificationsSuccessful candidates must hold a PhD in Communication, or a closely related field by the date of appointment. They should also possess evidence of outstanding teaching ability, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education settings. Experience in teaching diverse student populations, including international, adult, and professional learners in online and face-to-face environments, is essential.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 120-150 hours per academic year within the Communications and New Media undergraduate and/or Master of Communication programmes. Other responsibilities may include developing teaching materials, supervising honours and graduate students, and contributing to administrative tasks. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2024, prior to the commencement of the August 2024 semester.How to ApplyInterested parties are required to submit a complete dossier:

  • A complete list of publications, grouped according to papers, books, and reviews, including page numbers, in bibliographic form.
  • Citation (excluding self-citations and in the case of co-authored work, cross-citations) and impact analysis of research output, highlighting papers with the highest citation counts, and creative works with high impact.
