You are motivated by change for the better, and can pivot projects to accommodate new trends and knowledge.The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer, as well as business and support units across DBS Group (the \xe2\x80\x9cGroup\xe2\x80\x9d) to drive relevant and impactful initiatives.The TeamThe Chief Sustainability Office serves as a central team supporting senior management in setting and integrating into business the strategic direction on sustainability across the Group, which is aligned to the bank\xe2\x80\x99s mission to be The Best Bank for a Better World. Key functions include:

  • Support the Group CEO in acting as Chair of the Board Sustainability Committee;
  • Chair the Group Sustainability Council which hosts senior leaders from all key business and support units across the Group;
  • Sponsor (jointly with Group CRO and Group Head of Institutional Banking Group) Programme Net Zero, which focusses on the operationalisation of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s net zero commitments as well as Climate Risk Management;
  • Coordinate with and support business and support units across the Group in their efforts to implement sustainability strategies;
  • Coordinate with and support the local Sustainability Councils which the Group has set up in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and Indonesia in their efforts to implement sustainability strategies;
  • Run end-to-end process related to the Group\xe2\x80\x99s sustainability reporting and support country organisations within the Group in their sustainability reporting efforts;
  • External representation of DBS in global and regional working groups and committees;
  • Nurturing relationships in the wider sustainability ecosystem;
  • Overall internal capacity building on sustainability across the Group.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be expected to contribute towards a variety of strategic planning projects in corporate sustainability across the CSO Team\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio. In addition, the main areas of contributions will include:
  • Evolve the organisations approach to sustainability reporting and grow the capacity of internal units to implement policies and practices that support DBS\xe2\x80\x99 disclosure objectives and drive performance improvement
  • Deliver projects in collaboration with internal units (e.g. production of the annual sustainability report, responding to ESG ratings or investors queries)
  • Engage internal stakeholders, including DBS\xe2\x80\x99 senior management, on key disclosure related matters
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders including, but not limited to government / government bodies, regulators, industry groups, ESG investors, and within the wider sustainability ecosystem
  • Engage with senior management and internal units to evolve and deliver on the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s sustainability strategy, reporting approaches and key objectives
  • Manage planning and production of the annual sustainability report and related public disclosures communications
  • Develop subject matter expertise to stay updated on sustainability-related trends and developments within banking industry, so as to advance the evolution and implementation of sustainability at DBS
  • Propose, lead and project manage relevant sustainability-related initiatives (e.g. policies, guidance documents, toolkits) in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote transfer of sustainability-related knowledge and ownership (where applicable) to business units and support functions
  • Support the maintenance of relationships with key external stakeholders, e.g. regulators, investors, standard setters, and NGOs
Requirements
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in the sustainability and/ or financial sector
  • Experienced project manager \xe2\x80\x93 provides a well-structured and systematic approach, and is able to anticipate, prevent and solve problems proactively, while demonstrating competent time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications \xe2\x80\x93 proficient in synthesising complex information in simple and clear ways that are easy to understand
  • Attention to detail \xe2\x80\x93 comfortable producing, editing and reviewing qualitative and quantitative information
  • Stakeholder engagement \xe2\x80\x93 confident proactively engaging and working with multiple stakeholders from various departments / backgrounds
  • Resourceful and adaptable in uncertainty \xe2\x80\x93 able to work effectively in a high paced and changeable context
  • A team player \xe2\x80\x93 able to lead initiatives, as well as support other team members on projects
